Today’s Outfit: Spring is on the way!

2.17.12

Oh man. What a week (and a half) this has been. I’ve really enjoyed this time between trimesters, though. I am really dreading starting my new classes. :(

Today is for putting the finishing touches on my Zeus outfits. I am still wrestling with the camera question. I can’t decide if I am going to take it to both events, one event, or none event. I also can’t decide if i *do* bring it if I should just keep it around my neck and carry my clutch as intended or break down and bring my Kate Spade camera bag…Ugh. Decisions. Last year, I left it in the car for the actual ceremony but went and picked it up on the way to the next event. I really love my camera and love having it with me at all times (hate to miss a moment) but this is always an issue.

In other news, I have been making really weird faces in pictures lately. Sometimes I just forget how to smile like a normal person. Maybe I do it so much I get The Yips!

Hello there! Love your blog and your style! I remember you mentioning that you like to go antiquing and thrifting, and I love it too! I'm new to the Hattiesburg area (so your Sunday Spotlights have been a delight!!), and I was wondering if could could share come of the best antique and thrift stores in town? I've only been to the Calico Mall downtown, and it was great! But I'd love to venture out to more place so I can make a day of it! Thanks :)

hey!! I’m so glad you wrote in! Sorry it has taken me so long to answer…I think I mentioned I’ve accidentally been letting these pile up. Oh, laziness.

There have actually been a few new thrift stores to open up.  I noticed one on the way home the other day, but I can’t remember where! UGH! But here are some that I *can* remember :P

Polly Esther’s Closet (mainly clothes and accessories)

McKenzie’s On Main is an upscale antique store downtown (LOVE IT)

The Antique Mall between West Pine and 49. I took some pictures there a while back (before I started the Sunday Spotlight) This place goes on FOR DAYS!!

The Salvation Army—used to be a weekly thing for me, but now I never drive out that way. But I have some great finds from there!

Thrifties—I’ve only been once and it was on my way to something else, so I really can’t say much about this one.

Hudson’s—also use to be a weekly thing for me. I actually just heard that they have some great stuff in right now!! (See also: Dirt Cheap, Treasure Hunt, & BCH)

These are just some of the ones I know about and like. If any of you readers out there know of some great ones, please share!!!

Are  you guys recovering from all that candy?? I took 1+ accidental naps today…so I didn’t really get *that* much done.  Well…all I got done was babysitting. Zero other things were accomplished today :(

Speaking of those things to do….I guess I should get to it! Talk to you soon, lovebirds!

Today’s Outfit: Valentine’s Day!

2.14.12

Happy Valentine’s Day! This post is late because I spent the day being a busy little beaver!! I had a great time at The Back Door Cafe with Becca this evening! The food was amazing as usual (and the company wasn’t so bad either!) In other news, my new lens came in today!! I don’t know if I’ve ever loved a possession more!  I can’t wait to really get the hang of it.

Did you guys have any interesting plans for Valentine’s Day? I know for some it can be a sad day, so I hope each and every one of you felt loved by someone today.

P.S. I would LOVE to see some of your Valentine’s Day outfits! Send them to me on my facebook page
