Today’s Outfit: Meet Kaitlyn
1.7.12
Hey guys! My name is Kaitlyn and I blog over at The Girl With The Little Black Cat. I live in Florida and I’m currently working on getting my Masters in Social Work at FSU. When I’m not studying or doing research, I love spending time with my boyfriend, sister, and good friends, exploring new places, traveling or just staying at home with my cat and a cup of coffee or tea. I also love being crafty.

I should start by saying that I’m super, super happy to be guest blogging for my friend MA today. Truth is, I’ve been blogging for a year now and I’ve never been a guest blogger before, so this is really exciting for me. I’m a huge fan of Mary Anne. I met her over three years ago when she was an intern for TWLOHA, and I have loved watching her in her blogging journey. To say that she inspires me in my blogging (and fashion sense) is an understatement. I really am so proud to know her. She asked me to share an outfit post with you all, which is also a first for me. I decided to share some photos from a little date night that my boyfriend Harbor and I went on earlier this week.
It’s the coldest week of the year over here in Tallahassee, FL so wearing a dress to dinner proved slightly challenging. I was itching to wear my new floral tights, however, so I decided to get a little dressier than I usually do. Typically, I’m fairly casual and girly, but I’ve been working on incorporating more classic pieces to my wardrobe over the past year. Thus, I wore a fancy little dress I got from H&M last year for NYE. (Besides, it was a good excuse to wear it again!)

I wore a really warm peacoat over my dress and snagged my new chevron clutch to make a little statement against my monotone evening attire. A few years back I never would’ve worn navy blue with black, but I’ve since thrown all those “rules” out the window. If I want to wear blues/blacks/greys/browns in any sort of faux paux combination, I end up doing it. Who cares, right? :)

I also opted to wear my black oxfords instead of my black peep-toe heels to keep my feet warm. It was a really wise choice.

Outfit details: Peacoat – Old Navy (2009?); Dress – H&M (2010); Tights – F21; Oxfords – Steve Madden (via DSW); Mod Chevron Clutch – Red Velvet; Ring – Francesca’s Collections (a gift from my sister)
